Figuring out what lessons I’ve learned to go with certain letters is draining (as says another friend doing this series as well). I’m actually posting two books for M because I just could not decide between them.
Sooo, I’m just doing books today. And sorry I didn’t post yesterday. Twas busy busy.
Magic Kingdom For Sale/Sold (Magic Kingdom of Landover #1)
“Landover was a genuine magic kingdom, complete with fairy folk and wizardry, just as the advertisement had promised. But after he purchased it for a million dollars, Ben Holiday discovered that there were a few details the ad had failed to mention. Such as the fact that the kingdom was falling into ruin. The barons refused to recognize a king and taxes hadn’t been collected for years. The dragon, Strabo, was laying waste to the countryside, while the evil witch, Nightshade, was plotting to destroy no less than everything. And if that weren’t enough for a prospective king to deal with, Ben soon learned that the Iron Mark, terrible lord of the demons, challenged all pretenders to the throne of Landover to a duel to the death – a duel no mere mortal could hope to win. But Ben Holiday had one human trait that even magic couldn’t overcome. Ben Holiday was stubborn.”
That was the coolest book series. Its fun. And creative. My husband (then boyfriend) and his mother loved them, so I read them. And I agreed. Go pick it up!
Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore (Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore #1)
“The Great Recession has shuffled Clay Jannon away from life as a San Francisco web-design drone and into the aisles of Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore. But after a few days on the job, Clay discovers that the store is more curious than either its name or its gnomic owner might suggest. The bookstore’s secrets extend far beyond its walls.”
I read this for a book club the library at WKU does for students. I was curious about the book, and it was actually pretty awesome. It had a great plot, and its just one of those fun, spy/conspiracy type books, that revolves completely around BOOKS!!! Apparently there is a prequel, and perhaps in the future a sequel.
That second one sounds pretty interesting 🙂 I may have to check it out! (And yes, my brain is fizzling out on this alphabet series haha.)
