Writing Challenge: Day 4 – A poem using the words: blue, mistrust, half, twang

Day 4: A poem using the words: blue, mistrust, half, twang

The world is full of mistrust,
Half-baked theories and funky experiments.
The sky is blue, but oh no, that must not be true,
For science says it is so, but Lord, how do we know?
Perceptions falter, decisions fade, people hate,
And love fails. Twang,
Goes a cupid’s arrow, where it lands,
Nobody knows. Odd, that,
How one site says compatibility is guaranteed,
But society says nothing is free?
Children listen, hear the voices in the dark,
They see what we cannot, they know,
Without a doubt, that the world is okay,
And “mommy, everything is going to be all right.”
We need to step back,
Take a moment…
Take a deep breath…
Find ourselves again, find that trust, that center,
That inner strength that is trying to scream at us,
Let it out, let it fly,
Feel the air, remember life.
